October 6, 2026 — Authentication security update

​
Social login, magic links, and password resets now only redirect to URLs your project owns, and social login no longer puts session tokens in URLs.
Action required: add every site your members sign in from under Settings → Social Sign-On → Allowed redirect origins (custom domains, redirect rules, your Gately subdomain, and localhost are allowed automatically). Sign-in requests that redirect anywhere else now fail with Redirect URL not allowed. See Allowed Redirect URLs. What changed:
  • Allowed redirect URLs — redirectTo / redirect_url must belong to your project. Magic link and password reset emails are no longer sent for other domains.
  • One-time login codes — after Google or GitHub sign-in, Gately returns a single-use gately_code that the SDK exchanges for the session, instead of adding the session to the URL. Requires the latest gately SDK; older SDKs keep working on allowed domains.
  • Verified emails only — Google and GitHub sign-in only match members by a verified email address.
  • Server-side token verification — new Verify Token endpoint. @gately/nodejs 2.4.0 verifyToken now checks tokens with Gately and requires a secret key (gately_sk_...).
  • GitHub sign-in fixed for project sites, and the documented OAuth callback URLs corrected — see Social Login.
  • OAuth client secrets are no longer shown in full in the dashboard after saving.

August 18, 2026 — Project MCP Server

​
Connect any MCP-compatible AI assistant directly to your Gately project. Manage members, send emails, trigger workflows, and more — all from your AI tools.
The Gately MCP server is now live at https://mcp.usegately.com. Authenticate with your project API key and get instant access to 42 tools across every major feature area. What you can do from your AI assistant:
  • List, create, update, suspend, and delete members
  • Send transactional emails and create campaigns
  • Trigger workflows manually with a custom payload
  • View execution logs and analytics
  • Manage webhooks, help center articles, and project settings

Works with Kiro, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP-compatible client. See the MCP Server docs for the full setup guide and tool reference.

August 18, 2026 — Workflow Engine: Production Reliability

​
The workflow execution engine has been hardened for production use — email actions now use verified sending domains, and transient failures automatically retry.
Email action — domain verification fixed: Previously, the Send Email workflow action bypassed your project’s verified sending domain and used a hardcoded fallback address. All workflow emails now go through the same verified-domain path as manual campaigns, with full SPF/DKIM authentication and delivery logging. Retry logic with exponential backoff: Workflow steps that fail due to transient errors (network timeouts, rate limits, temporary API issues) now automatically retry up to 3 times with exponential backoff (2s → 4s → 6s delays). Non-retriable errors (validation failures, not-found) still fail immediately. Bulk email rate limiting: The Send Email action for all_members now sends in batches of 10 with a 1-second delay between batches to prevent API throttling. Execution logging improvements: Every workflow run now records a run ID in its execution logs, making it easier to trace a run from start to finish.

August 18, 2026 — Billing Plan Fix

Users on the Pro plan now correctly receive Pro-level access. A tier mapping bug caused Pro plan purchasers to receive Starter-level limits.
The Stripe webhook that processes plan purchases was writing professional to the user tier field, which the app normalised down to starter. All Pro plan price IDs now correctly write business to the tier field, which normalises to pro — unlocking unlimited members, 50k emails/month, 5 sending domains, and full API access. Affected users: Anyone who purchased the Pro plan via Stripe. If you were affected, your access has been updated automatically. Log out and back in if you don’t see your plan reflected.
